Emily Wall

I characterize my work as primarily lyric, with a special focus on use of the image as a method of discovery. Image can tap into the core of memory, and into the shared consciousness of humanity. I have been particularly interested lately to see how the subconscious self, and the stories we know, emerge from work with images.

I am also starting to explore narrative poetry and the use of archetypal images, characters, and plots as a means of exploring the human psyche. I believe poems, in a more intense way than stories, can capture the essence, or core, of the archetype and therefore of the human experience.
