John Straley

John Straley is a poet, novelist, and a private investigator.  He is the author of two series of novels: one features Cecil Younger as an Alaskan private eye and another centers around the town of Cold Storage,  Alaska.  His latest novel, Cold Storage, Alaska came out in paperback in December of 2014. His book of poetry, The Rising And The Rain is available from The University of Alaska Press. John was Alaska’s 12th Writer Laureate.

He lives in a bright green house near Old Sitka Rocks with his wife, Jan and their black labrador Gypsy.
